"Devious Maids" will return for another dramatic run. On Thursday, Lifetime has granted the one-hour soap which hails from Marc Cherry (Desperate Housewives) a fourth season pickup. The latest season of the Eva Longoria-produced series will be composed of 10 episodes.
According to Deadline, the renewal comes after a stable performance of the series this year. TV Series Finale learned that the third season of "Devious Maids" averaged a 0.46 in rating under the 18-49 demographic. It targeted a total of 1.36 million viewers. The Aug. 24th finale also established a successful airing after receiving a 0.55 in rating, with a total of more than 1.5 million viewers.
Lifetime EVP Liz Gateley expressed her excitement about the latest development of the well-watched cable show. “Devious Maids is a steady hit that continues to deliver for us. It has found a loyal audience that is socially engaged with the show," she said in a statement released via The Hollywood Reporter.
Gateley also commended the creative team behind the successful storytelling of the Ana Ortiz-starred drama. “The entire writing and production team worked hard to up the storytelling this year, and the cast delivered great performances, so the show just gets better and better. I am very excited to renew it for another season,” she continued.
The third season finale of Devious Maids ended with multiple cliffhangers, putting some of the characters’ fate hang in the balance. In light of this huge development, fans of the show can now look forward to another set of suspenseful and mysterious episodes.
"Devious Maids" is a Lifetime series created by Desperate Housewives’ Marc Cherry and executive produced by actress Eva Longoria. After delivering a successful third season in 2015, the cable network has officially renewed the show for a 10-episode fourth season. The network is yet to announce the official premiere date of Devious Maids season 4. Production date and casting additions are also yet to be determined in the coming weeks.
