Supermodel Cindy Crawford worries about her daughter Kaia Gerber on folowing her footsteps: Fears of how the modelling standards of today will affect her child

Cindy Crawford has several concerns about her teenage daughter Kaia Gerber who is also following the supermodel's famous footsteps.

"Today, models are expected to be so tiny and I worry about that for her, because that was never my natural body type and I don't think it'll be hers either," the 49-year-old supermodel told NET-A-PORTER.COM's The Edit.

Although she believes that the industry has changed a lot now compared to the time when she started in the fashion world, she still wants her beautiful young daughter to shine. "I don't want her to feel in competition with me, although I'll tease her, and say, 'You have my old hair-give it back!' Or, 'Give me back my legs!' But she'll be fine...She's much more together and worldly than I was at her age." Cindy added.

The mother of the young model wishes that the culture surrounding beauty and modeling nowadays is a bit more like when she was still on Kaia's age. Crawford pointed out that how the present trend somehow moved away from the idea that fashion and makeup should be for fun "These days, images that are meant to inspire and make women feel happy to be women sometimes have the opposite effect." she added.

Cindy also thinks that it's harder to be successful as a model today. However, she still got faith in Kaia. "She's much more together and worldly than I was at her age."

Both Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber still can't believe that their baby girl, who just turned 14 on September 3, has already grown up. Indeed, their little kid has already started her career in line with her mom's track as a model.

Meanwhile, Gerber just signed her first modeling contract with IMG Models according to Hollywood Reporter. The announcement appeared in an Instagram IMG posted of the teen model from a fresh Vogue Italiaspread.

Many thinks that Kaia looks like a miniature version of her supermodel mom. According to some, Gerber is still young and she still has a lot of practice and preparation to do to become like her mom. Are we going to see another successful model in the world of modeling?
