"Passengers" has started filming in Atlanta. It is the latest movie that will feature Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Chris Pratt. Lawrence who had made it on the headlines when she cut her tresses in a pixie was seen sporting a bold bleach blonde do as she mounts down from a car to the movie set.
JLaw has reportedly signed on to earn $20 million for the big-budget drama, almost double that of co-star Pratt. It is a rarity in the male-dominated world of Hollywood where actresses are still suffering from grave pay inequality in comparison to their male co-stars. Recently, the "Hunger Games" star confessed that she once Goggled herself with the keywords 'Jennifer Lawrence Ugly.' She shared that she is scared of saying anything because her words might be taken by people negatively.
According to Lawrence, she is trying to balance her public and private life. "I find a certain peace by thinking of me in public as sort of an avatar self. You out there can have the avatar me. I can keep me," she said. She concluded saying: "I just try to acknowledge that this scrutiny is stressful, and that anyone would find it stressful. So I've got to try to let it go, and try to be myself, and focus on important things, like picking up dog poop."
The 36 year old hunk Pratt was also seen on the set with polished scruff at the outset, later on gave a peace sign to a photographer with a shaved and boyish look possibly for the film.
Sony's "Passengers" will bring a romantic plot between Lawrence and Pratt. It is a sci-fi drama that will be directed by Morten Tyldum who is responsible for "The Imitation Game" with a screenplay penned by Jon Spaihts of "Doctor Strange."
"Passengers" revolves around Jim Preston played by Pratt. He is a passenger in a spacecraft carrying thousands of people enroute to a distant planet. A malfunction in his chamber wakes him up from a 'cyrogenic sleep' 90 years earlier than everybody else. Afraid and unwilling of dying alone he rouses from sleep a fellow female passenger, Aurora, played by Lawrence, thus the beginning of their romantic story.
The film is scheduled for release in 2016. The cast also includes Lawrence Fishburne, who will play Colonel Alexander, and Michael Sheen whose character has not yet been announced.
