The acclaimed Grammy Award winner American singer, Lady Gaga had just released her new single title "Till it happens to you" from which addresses rape victims. Now the acclaimed performer has been receiving endless heartfelt gratitude from the victims of rape.
The "Poker face" hit singer, Lady Gaga collaborated with Diane Warren to make a perfect song fit for a documentary film. The docu-film is titled as "The Hunting Ground", a film about rape incidents inside U.S. College campuses, according to New Magazine.
The four rape victims' stories where featured on the docu-film and the young ladies want to extend their gratitude to the star singer. The letter of the four victims contains their gratitude for voicing out their problems. The ladies wrote, "The release of your song will have an unparalleled impact on the culture of campuses nationwide".
"Imagine a survivor who, after hearing your song, no longer feels isolated or alone. Picture that survivor's friend, telling that survivor that it's not her fault... We want to thank you both for having the courage to write and perform this song and for allowing your talent, your music, your lyrics and your voices to tell our stories." Diane, Lady Gaga's co-composer, says she cried just by reading the letter.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga's hit single has been a hot topic in social medias, Twitter and Facebook. Celebrities were also supporting the song online like Ophrah Winfrey and the White House adviser, Valerie Jarrett.
The new single, "Till it happens to you" was officially released by Lady Gaga last September 18. It was "haunting and blunt" tackling the issue of rape violence that occurs in every college campuses. The released music video also contains maturely graphic scenes, including, drinking and drugs.
Catherine Hardwicke, the acclaimed director of Twilight directed the music video. The video of the song, which depicts the reality of sexual violence inside school campuses, was released on September 24 and it has been gathering more than 12 million views as well as praised of appreciation from victims of abuse.
