One of Homeland's main stars, Damian Lewis, is eyeing to be the next James Bond should Daniel Craig separate from the said role. The actor got a nod - though not official yet - but seems to have a great deal of approval as the next 007 agent for the upcoming new James Bond movie.
Damian Lewis is seen to be the perfect star to play the internationally-acclaimed agent role, The Daily Mail UK reported. Furthermore, the James Bond big bosses and production are already getting convinced that the Homeland actor is the perfect bet for the said role.
Daniel Craig, on the other hand, dropped some hints that he might want to venture on new activities, and/or roles, for that matter, although the actor is not closing any doors yet of continuing to play the big role of James Bond.
"Spectre" will be released in November of this year which has also been the focus of the production for now. Nonetheless, some sources are saying that Damian Lewis would be the right one for the next James Bond movie installment. Metro UK also cited that there is really no pressure for Daniel Craig to give up the role for he has done so great being James Bond. But if and when he decides to step down from the role, Damian Lewis is already in the pipeline.
A lot of actors have been eyed upon to be the worthy successor of Daniel Craig for the James Bond role - Idris Elba and Tom Hardy, just to name a few. But the "Homeland" star seems to be in prime position to take charge. Mirror UK cited further on Damian Lewis' qualifications - the actor has received international fame through high-profile TV and film roles, and thus considered to be an all-round international star.
Sources have said the producers have already given Damien Lewis an "unofficial nod" to be the next 007 agent. And although there is speculation of other stars taking over the role and no official statement has been released yet about who will be the next James Bond, it seems Damien Lewis is already primed to be next in line.
