Now recovering from the said disease and celebrating another fruitful year of her life, the "Keep Holding On" singer has geared to launch a campaign beneficial to those who are suffering Lyme disease around the globe.
In partnership with Prizeo, a digital fund-raising platform and Avril Lavigne's very own foundation, they finally kicked-off a five-week campaign that will cater to support children and adults with the said disease, E! Online shared.
The campaign will end on November 9, 2015 and a grand prize winner shall be picked in lieu with the fund-raising activity. The winner will have ample time to spend with Avril Lavigne and a chance to participate in a role in the upcoming animated film "Charming."
Avril Lavigne, who is now 31 years old, wanted to share and provide support to those who are diagnosed with Lyme disease. The singer shared that the said disease changed her life in a way she could never imagine. The Daily Mail UK shared that the "Sk8er Boi" singer thought that at one point in her life, she thought she will die soon as she is suffering from heaviness in breathing and can barely talk or move much.
The singer has shared some wonderful insights and experiences coping with the disease. Avril Lavigne also remained strong after her split with her husband of two years, Chad Kroeger, in early September. Although the marriage is said to be over, Avril Lavigne expressed that they still care for each other despite everything they are going through right now.
