The full specification of the watch as reported byAndroid Authority shows that the Gear S2 is the best smartwatch released by Samsung compared to its previous six watches. The smartwatch comes with a 1.2-inch design with a standard screen resolution of 360 x 360.
The S2 comes with an impressive 4GB built-in storage, 512 MB RAM, and it is using a dual-core 1GHz processor.
The Samsung's Tizen-powered smartwatch is available in two options as stated by the company; standard model and classic model. Engadget reported that the new Gear S2 is different than the previous model by Samsung and it looks more like a normal watch when users are wearing it. The watch is compatible with any smartphones running on Android 4.4 and higher with 1.5GB RAM.
However, to get the most feature from the watch such as the Samsung Pay, users can only pair the watch with Samsung smartphones only.
The most notable feature in the Gear S2 is the rotating bezel. The clever design solves the problem faced by many smartwatch users which find it difficult to rotate and choosing the apps on the small screen. By using the rotating bezel, users will be able to go through the apps on the watch with ease.
Samsung also announced that it is planning to have up to 1,000 apps available for the smartwatch by the time it was on sale soon. The company has also been working with 100 developers to design apps specifically for the smartwatch.
Besides 3G support, a newer upgrade will be released by Samsung in October which allow the smartwatch to support Wi-Fi connection.
With lots of Android-powered smart watch hitting the market this year, it is still unclear how the new watch will be able to compete with others in the market. However, Samsung is hoping that its latest market entry will help the company to gain some market share in the smartwatch industry.
