Michael Fassbender Throws Major Digs On Ashton Kutcher’s Flopped Steve Jobs Films

By

Michael Fassbender had been brutally frank when it comes to the role that he portrayed in the upcoming Aaron Sorkin film "Steve Jobs." It is said that the film is receiving tons of Oscars buzz with positive reviews from critics. However, the "Prometheus" star might have stepped on Ashton Kutcher, who also played Steve Jobs in 2013. When he was asked how he prepared for the tech magnate role, Fassbender quipped when he answered them at the New York Film Festival on Sunday, Oct.4, E! News reports.

"I studied Ashton Kutcher," Fassbender said. The 38-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor added that he enjoyed memorizing the long scripts. "It honestly takes me longer than the average person would [to memorize lines]. I just read it over and over again and kind of go crazy and keep reading it and go a little more crazy and just keep reading it."

From the start, Fassbender realized that portraying the role of Jobs is kind of challenging since he doesn't look like the Apple CEO. However, the director believes that the "12 Years a Slave" star is perfect for the role.

When PEOPLE asked Fassbender what could have intimidated him while filming the Danny Boyle-directed movie, he quickly replied, "Obviously I don't look anything like Steve Jobs," he said. "That was the first thing I said to [director] Danny [Boyle]. I said: 'Christian Bale looks a lot more like Steve Jobs than me.' "

Fassbender worked with prime actors including Kate Winslett as one of the core members of the Macintosh team, Joanna Hoffman; Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley; Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan; and Seth Rogen as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Winslett has expressed how glad she was to work with Fassbender in the Steve Jobs film. In an interview, she had lots of good words for the German-Irish actor and claimed that he was an "extraordinary actor, amazing and professional." She gushed that they were lucky to have him in the starring role.

Meanwhile, Ashton hasn't commented on Fasbbender's comments yet. Do you think the "Macbeth" actor is really throwing shades to Mila Kunis' husband? "Steve Jobs" hits U.S. theaters on Oct.9.
