Many fans were delighted when Tim Burton decided to make a 'Beetlejuice 2' and it looks like everyone's coming back for the movie. With Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder already on board, 'Beetlejuice 2' is still waiting for Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin to be back on set.

According to Movie Web, 'Beetlejuice 2' will mark almost 30 years since the original was released in 1988. Davis, who played the lovable ghost Barbara Maitland, is interested in reprising her role for the sequel. Davis expressed that she "would love to" return to "one of [her] favourite movies." However, it is unknown if talks have been underway since Davis' statement.

She starred alongside Baldwin, who played as her husband ghost Adam Maitland. While Baldwin has also not confirmed for 'Beetlejuice 2', Davis joked about her on-screen husband and the 30 year gap of the sequel and the original. Citing that "ghosts probably don't age", she teased that she hasn't aged after 30 years, but maybe Baldwin has, as reported by the International Business Times. As of writing, Baldwin has yet to express his intent to reprise his role in the '80s cult film sequel.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the script is being worked on, and Burton has expressed his excitement on working with Keaton, most especially his character Betelgeuse. Ryder, Burton and Keaton all have confirmed their involvement in 'Beetlejuice 2'.

The script is being penned by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith. While many are enthusiastic about Davis and Baldwin reprising their role, the finished script may possibly not include their characters back. No release date has been announced thus far. While it seems that the 'Beetlejuice 2' is bringing back the original characters, the intended plot remains largely unknown. The screenwriters have teased that the idea of "less is more" with the titular character.
