Ellie Goulding was speculated with lip-syncing during her performance at the AFL Grand Finals. The singer is now allegedly blaming the "sound guy" at the event that caused the technical issue, claiming she didn't lip-sync.
During the singer's performance at the Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Finals in Melbourne at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Ellie Goulding suffered technical issues amidst the event. She was now accused by many to be lip-syncing during her performance as reported by Music Feeds. One of her famous songs to date, "Love Me like You Do" was heard playing throughout the whole broadcast, including her pre-recorded vocals. As the track was continually playing, Goulding doesn't sing with her microphone on her side. This captured incident then resurfaces the people to assume she was lip-syncing at the event.
The singer immediately responded to the issue saying she gave her best and fullest during her performance. According to Gossip Cop, the singer was both amused and angered by the accusations that people circulated around social media. Goulding stated in her twitter account that she was not feeling all well during her performance but still gave her 100% to the event for her fans. She then explained that the sound guy pressed playback twice and triggered both band tracks to play simultaneously. She considers being accused of lip-syncing a "rad compliment". She still believes she did her best then.
The producer of the event, Michael Gudinski took the singer's side saying he was completely positive the singer did not lip-sync. He stated that Goulding was singing live to a backing track, but a technical issue occurred at the start that caused a little gap. Huffington Post reported that other singers who have been accused of lip-syncing do the same thing, finding someone to blame for the issue. The sound guy at the event was allegedly nowhere to be found after the incident happened.
Goulding is strongly taking a stand on the allegations that she was lip-syncing, assuring everyone that she wasn't. A lot of people however also believe the statement she gave while others are still on the edge of it.
