Jailbreak for iOS 9.1 Still Far From Completion; Zerodium Offers $1M Bounty

By

Apple recently rolled out the new iOS 9.1 beta update to a limited number of iPhone and iPad users across the globe. However, the jailbreak download from hackers is still far behind.

Jailbreak tool developer Pangu has admitted that there aren't any available updates yet for the new iOS version. The full version of the update is still anticipated by many loyal fans.

There aren't any other developers that have instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 9.1. Since the beta rollout was very recent, it could take time for hackers to develop a workaround.

Apple has made the beta update hard to obtain. Interested users or developers will need to create a profile from the Cupertino-based company's public beta website before they can get a hold of the beta version.

With this strategy, only a few people can get the iOS 9.1 update, according to Neurogadget. Jailbreaking seems to be out of the option for now.

There have been several improvements included in the update such as bug fixes and a new emoji set. Most of the features are made to improve the aesthetic aspects of the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and other supported iOS devices.

To push the development of a jailbreak for the iOS 9.1, security firm Zerodium announced a rather large $1 million bounty, according to International Business Times. However, there seems to be little progress yet.

The jailbreak developer recently uploaded the iOS 9 jailbreak proof on YouTube. However, iH8sn0w did not announce when the jailbreak will be available for download.

Apple device users have managed to jailbreak most updates up to iOS 8.4.1. With the release of the recent update, downgrading to a jailbreakable version hasn't been possible. Users who upgraded to the official iOS 9 update will have to wait for the modified version.

TaiG and Pangu are yet to announce whether they have finally cracked a jailbreak for the iOS 9.1, according to Realty Today. Apple has certainly made the process harder compared to previous versions.

The iOS 9.1 update is yet to be launched officially for everyone. An iOS 9.1 jailbreak will have to take time before it surfaces on the Internet.
