High definition screen TV service producer SMRTV Inc. announced today that it raised$1.4 million in funding, according to a document provided by the Security Exchange Commission. The commission's statement also indicated that the company, which is more known with its ConnecTV service, could possibly collect another $2.6 million worth of investments before the fundraiser closes.

Other investors in the current round are not stated by the Security Exchange Commission's filing.

The television service was co-founded by several television industry veterans such as Ian Aaron, president of TV Guide, Alan Moskowitz, TiVo's former head of technology, and former TiVo programming chief Stacy Jolna.

ConnecTV gives a unique ad syncing feature which proves non-primary advertising mainly on mobile devices thru pop-ups. These advertisements are in conjunction with the current commercials being played in live television.

ConnecTV is an application letting television viewers to choose a specific television movie, show, or commercial by listening to what they are watching. This is done via the Watchwith technology, which syncs tablets and smartphones to content providers.
