Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes reportedly drove 95 miles just so he could face New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher. The former was so enraged about the coach as he attacked him for dating his estranged wife, 'Basketball Wives LA' star Gloria Govan.
Matt Barnes found Derek Fisher at a residence in Los Angeles with his estranged wife and some other people enjoying a bonfire, Fox News reported. The Memphis Grizzlies forward took on Derek Fisher and immediately attacked him, leaving the New York Knicks coach a few scratches. Derek Fisher expressed that he is not going to press some charges against Matt Barnes and he just wants to let it go.
Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan share 6-year old twin sons together. The ex-couple are getting a divorce which Matt Barnes already filed in January 2015. Gloria Govan, on the other hand, started dating Derek Fisher in the middle of the year - something that Matt Barnes does not agree with.
Derek Fisher did not comment further on the issue and declined to give statements of what had happened. Gloria Govan is planning to file a restraining order against her ex-husband Matt Barnes for the said issue, New York Post shared. Matt Barnes expressed his side about the said attack and said that he drove there to check on his sons whom he had spoken to via FaceTime.
Bleacher Report reported that Matt Barnes was arrested in September 2014 by cause of suspicion of domestic violence. But Gloria Govan, who was said to be the victim, denied these allegations against her then husband.
Derek Fisher is not in any way pressing charges against Matt Barnes and wanted to leave this incident behind him. Moreover, Gloria Govan is worried after their safety and is planning to file a restraining order against her ex-husband.
