LG G3 on AT&T has started getting the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update today through the official over-the-air (OTA) release of the carrier in collaboration with the manufacturer. Before hitting the Android 6.0, LG G3 smartphones will be geting new features and improvements.
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is officially rolling out to LG G3 on AT&T, the first carrier in the US to release the update to the device. Other major mobile carriers like T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint and Verizon Wireless have neither released the same update nor hinted when it should come to their versions of LG G3.
LG G3 on AT&T made a jump from Android 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, skipping Lollipop's first maintenance release 5.1. Alongside new features and improvements, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will bring device security enhancements as well.
