Lucasfilm is said to come up with a Star Wars Bobba Fett spin-off. The actor the production team is eyeing on for the lead role is Michael B. Jordan. The question, however, is will Jordan being the person under the Mandalorian Armor work?
Cinema Blend shared that director Josh Trank was supposed to be at the helm of the Star Wars Bobba Fett spin-off. However, with the "Fantastic Four" reboot ending in a flop, plus speculations that there were conflicts behind the scenes, Trank was taken out of the next film. Some speculations were that he voluntarily let go of the upcoming film that he was supposed to direct. Production is said to be eyeing on Michael B. Jordan to take the role as the Mandalorian bounty hunter.
Slash Film adds that the portrayal of Michael B. Jordan for the lead role of the Star Wars spin-off movie has created quite a ruckus in the movie world. Loyal fans of the Star Wars legacy don't seem to agree with the appearance of Jordan as compared to Temuera Morrison. Morisson is the face behind Jango Fett. Jango, is a Maori and of Scottish and Irish descent, who is presumably the father of Boba who is also a clone. The argument falls that being a clone, the appearance of both Jango and Bobba should be pretty similar. But with the case of Temuera and Michael, it does not fall in that category.
The appearance of Michael as Boba is from an African-American descent. This is quite derailing for fans if Jordan truly does land the role.
HeyUGuys reports that there were speculations that there would be someone who will steal the Mandalorian Armor. This could be the reason why there is possibly a difference in appearance for the Bobba Fett role if Michael B. Jordan was to land the role.
There were theories that production had difficulty getting the solo Star Wars spin-off to materialize. This is because of the Boba Fett character being an antagonist in previous films and turning him into a protagonist is quite a challenge.
Fans and moviegoers alike will just have to trust Lucas Films to do a great job on the spin-off, with the presumption that they really know what they are doing and will not let the character come to waste.
The Star Wars Bobba Fett spin-off was developed by Simon Kinberg and will hopefully make a positive impact for avid fans. This is regardless if Michael B. Jordan will take the role or not.
