Apple positions its new tablet, the iPad Pro, as a device suitable for work or business. However, a review reveals that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is more suited for professionals than the Apple iPad Pro.
VCPost earlier reported that the Apple iPad Pro is a business-focused device. Other reports say that the tablet can be used in the hospital setting as a healthcare communication device and in the creative setting as a digital sketchpad for artists.
However, The Cubic Lane claimed in a report that the Apple iPad Pro only comes in second to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 as a device that can be used for work. The iPad Pro is said to be Apple's player against the Surface Pro 4. Although positioned as a tablet for professionals, the report said that the Apple iPad Pro is more apt for entertainment purposes. It further added that the Surface Pro 4 has everything that professionals look for in terms of power, versatility, mobility, and functionality.
The report also stated that both the Apple iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 sport great screen displays. Both devices have a stylus and a keyboard. Apple's Smart keyboard lacks a trackpad while the Surface Pro 4 has one, enabling the user to operate the tablet without touching the screen.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 also gets the upper hand with the stylus as its Surface Pen has a multi-functional "eraser" button and a longer battery life than the Apple Pencil. The Surface Pen's eraser button can be used to open OneNote, take a screenshot, and launch Microsoft Cortana.
Another difference between the Apple iPad Pro and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the operating system that runs inside the devices. The iPad Pro has iOS while the Surface Pro 4 runs Windows 10. This allows the Surface Pro 4 to run desktop applications commonly used in the workplace.
Phones Review reported that Apple's biggest tablet, the iPad Pro, would launch on November but no specific date has yet been announced by Apple. There are sources saying that the Apple iPad Pro would go on sale online by late October and will hit stores in the first week of November.
The estimated UK price for the Apple iPad Pro is £649 for the WiFi 32GB variant and £749 for the 128GB variant. The rumored release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 4's competitor, Apple iPad Pro, has not yet been officially confirmed by the tech giant.
