Moto G (2015) on AT&T Confirmed for Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update via Official OTA Release

Moto G (2015) on AT&T has been finally confirmed by Motorola to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software via official over-the-air release. The third generation Moto G smartphone is now in pending list for evaluation of AT&T's support for the biggest upgrade in Android history.

Motorola has announced the Moto G (2015) Android 6.0 Marshmallow release update on its support page it is in negotiation with AT&T to support the new software. The smartphone device currently has a pending partner support with the carrier as per Motorola's website.

The smartphone is among Motorola's handset devices it announced last week getting the Marshmallow updat. Moto G (2015) was released in September with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop shipped out of the box.

When it is already available, Marshmallow will hits Moto G (2015) units over the air through Wi-Fi connection. Step-by-step installation can also be performed using a USB connection and Motorola Device Manager. Check also the update via Settings > About phone > System updates.

The upgrade will bring in several new features and key improvements to existing apps and system, including Apps Permissions, fingerprint support, app drawer, battery saver Doze and Google Now, among many others.

Google Now becomes more intuitive and smarter than ever. It now has various range of contexts and answers not to mention it also suggests actions to undertake.

Apps Permissions gives device owners more convenient management of the permissions of downloaded apps. Owners are endowed with choices, either to allow or deny permissions. Apps Permissions are mandatory to all first time users of the feature, not at the point of installation.

Doze is a new battery saving feature that devises motion sensors to manage the device's power, especially when idle. It eliminates background processes and starts alarms and informs owners of priority notifications.

Meanwhile, app drawer sports an all-new design ditching horizontal scrolls while replacing with vertical ones. The background is white to create a stark contrast with the scrolls. The improved app drawer shows four most recently used apps across the top of the menu.

If device has a fingerprint scanner, this features can be used for purchasing goods and services and unlocking device. Marshmallow also supports mobile payments through Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express and Google Pay.
