Inevitable delay due to necessary improvements to Persona 5 has prompted game developer Altus to reveal some game details as compensation to dismayed fans.
With the dismay of fans on the delayed release of Persona 5, the fifth installment of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Altus explained that such is a necessary postponement for the improvement of the game. With this, the developers make it up to the disappointed fans by revealing updates. According to Christian Today, the official website of the game has been loaded with updates on the characters with their respective personas. Adding to online teasers are cropped up images in the Japanese magazine Famitsu which were published together with an interview with Katsura Hashino, Persona 5's game director.
The game features an urban lifestyle experience set in the city of Shibuya. Like the previous persona titles, the game still revolves around the life of a high school student and a phantom thief as they get on typical social activities.
Yibada reports that developer Altus' intention is to provide gamers an outlet to explore new adventures and experiences with the protagonist's friends. New gameplays feature Cooperation which works as new social link system, All-Out-Attack which enables characters to mob and beat downed players, and Sneak which allows players to stealth in any situation in the dungeon levels. The protagonist, however, is still unnamed and only tagged as "The Protagonist". Aged 16, he is still a high school student but is already the leader of the Phantom Thieves. The storyline would deal with five individuals who are phantom thieves and who would work to steal the hearts of corrupt individuals and put an end to evils plaguing the city.
In the game's latest trailer, it now indicated that the game will be released in the summer of 2016, rather than a vague announcement that it would be released sometime next year. Master Herald reports that the game was supposed to be released before the end of the year, however, some improvements and adjustments caused its deferment, for which Altus promised fans a Persona 5 which will be above and beyond everyone's expectations.
Altus' Persona 5, the fifth installment of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, shall be released in the summer of 2016 in Japan and sometime in 2016 in the United States, playable in Play Station 3 and Play Station 4.
