Popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly having a divorce with wife Portia de Rossi. The couple has been under speculations in regards to the likelihood of their breakup.
Ellen and Portia have been married for seven years and have since served as an inspiration for gay couples who fight for same sex marriage. Now it seems that Portia wants to build a family with the popular host, and is demanding to adopt a child. However, Ellen is not conceding to this idea.
According to Latin Post, the couple is undergoing a difficult time. Not only are they having differences with their ideas of a family, but Ellen is claimed to be rather controlling with her partner.
While the American comedian seems to be very fond of children in her show, she is certain on the decision not to have her own. She explained in defence that she may only be disappointed if she opts for an adoption.
"What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted or as talented? I'm gonna compare it to all these kids that I have on this show that are so smart and so funny. And I'm like, 'You are nowhere near these kids I had on today,'" said Ellen as cited by Jobs and Hire.
Not only are the couple having problems with regards to adoption but the popular TV personality is said to be unhappy with Portia back on the screen again in the series "Scandal".
It seems that the rumoured fights between the couple have caused so much emotional stress to Portia, making her find relief in alcohol. An insider claimed that the "Scandal" completed a 30-day drug and alcohol treatment program.
With regards to all these divorce issues, Ellen gave her response to an interview with Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show.
"There's not one ounce of truth to any of it. I'm very happily married. In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more. That is all. It really is true," said the host in a report by Realty Today.
Meanwhile, the "Finding Dory" star is keeping herself busy with a major update with her show and image when news about frenemy Oprah Winfrey broke out that the phenomenal TV host is making her come back.
