Intel mulls over selling $1-bln assets of venture capital unit

Intel Corp, one of the major manufacturer of computer components in the world, is planning to sell a part of its venture capital (VC) unit Intel Capital. The value of the part of assets to be offered for sale is estimated to be $1billion worth. UBS Group AG has been appointed to find out potential buyers for the sale of a part in venture capital unit.


Intel invested $60M to develop drones with Yuneec International

Intel Capital had invested $60M in China-based drone manufacturer Yuneec International Co. to produce drones that would help the industry in the future. The chipset company also invested on Airware and PrecisionHawk.

3D sensor maker Occipital gets $13 Million in Series B funding

Software startup Occipital has announced that the company received a round of funding from a group of investors. TechCrunch reports that the Series B funding worth $13 million was raised from investors Intel Capital, Shea Ventures, Grishin Robotics, and Foundry Group, who had previously participated in the first round of funding for Occipital.

Intel Capital allocates $125 million to fund firms with women and minorities in top roles

Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of the global chip maker- Intel Corp, on Tuesday announced to allocate $125 million fund to back companies with women and minorities in leadership roles.
