Sultan Al Jaber to lead Adnoc
UAE Minister of State Sultan Al Jaber has assumed the charge as Director General at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc). Al Jaber has to overcome turbulent conditions in the oil industry as the lower oil prices, oversupply and consumption are the major challenges ahead of him.
Abu Dhabi keen on aviation, energy sectors in India
India seeks investments from United Arab Emirates (UAE) in oil, aviation and infrastructure segments. Abu Dhabi is also keen on developing projects in India. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is on an official tour in India.
IEA warns of worse than expected oil glut
The International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned that short-term risks downside have increased as oil glut is expected to be worse than anticipated. With Iran resuming oil production, the sluggish global demand is adding further to the woes. OPEC's continuation of oil production is keeping pressure on oil prices.
Cheap oil benefits consumers, hits governments
The lower oil price for about 19 months is benefiting the consumers, but creating a lot of problems for the global governments and business firms. Many banks and the US government forecast oil price above $40 a barrel this year. The oil price fell to below $30 during the past 19 months from $107 a barrel.
