Indian Man Kills Friend, Chops Him Into Pieces

According to The New Indian Express, the victim, identified as KV Srinath, lived in Anjanadri Layout at Thanisandra, Bangalore, in India, while accused Madhav Rao is from nearby Vijinapura in Ramamurthy Nagar.

Srinath, 34, was an employee of a chit fund firm at Basaveshwaranagar who disappeared on May 28 after leaving for work. His wife reported him missing the next day.

Police used CCTV footage to track Srinath to Rao's house in Ramamurthy Nagar, where he was seen entering but not coming out. That led to a search of the property, revealing bloodstains inside, while Rao had disappeared and could not be contacted as he turned off his phone.

Indian Suspect Admits Killing Friend Over Financial Dispute

Police intensified their manhunt for the suspect, and they recently arrested Madhav Rao in Andhra Pradesh. Following his capture, Rao was interrogated, and he admitted to killing his friend.

He said he had chopped KV Srinath's body into pieces using a machete and hurled them into stormwater drains in nearby areas. According to police, the murder was motivated by a financial dispute, and Rao had an illicit relationship with Srinath's wife.

Authorities noted that Rao had invested Rs 5 lakh (around $5,900) in Srinath's firm's chit fund scheme and wanted his money back. Police said they would continue to search for the victim's body parts because they were having a hard time finding them in the past three days due to heavy rains that have been filling the drains.
