HTC One M9+ devices are officially bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software via over-the-air (OTA) release as confirmed through an expected time release (ETA) list of the Taiwan manufacturer. According to HTC's roadmap list, Marshmallow will come in the first quarter of 2016.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow's official OTA release is confirmed coming to HTC One M9+ devices by January next year. The device is one of the several lucky flagship and mid-range smartphones and tablets to receive the update.
Although it currently runs the Sense 7.0 which makes the device exciting and a crowd favorite, One M9+ is the device looking forward to be upgraded with Marshmallow as it brings first time features for Android and major improvements in performance.
In September 2015, One M9+ just received the Android 5.1 Lollipop software version and is slated to skip the final Lollipop update. With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, HTC's latest flagship device will have Doze mode, Now on Tap, Android Pay supports, direct share and more convenient controls.
Doze Mode is a new feature that screens phone and puts into a deep sleep when unused to prolong battery life. With Now on Tap, Google Now gets better function; by press holding the home button, Google Now will pop up and exhibit information based on current status or activity.
Make purchases without the need to launch another app using Android Pay and several other mobile payment systems like Master Card, Visa, Google Pay and Discovery.
Marshmallow also brings direct sharing of photos, links, news, files, etc. with selected contacts with ease and quickness, plus easier volume controls for ringtone and media volume.
HTC One M9+ apparently is a more sophisticated version of One M9. It is a 5.2-inch phone with Quad HD resolution. It rocks a 64-bit octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, microSD slot that can support up to 2 TB.
The device camera has 21 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization, face detection autofocus ate .01 second, plus a laser autofocus. The front shooter cam has 4 MP lens featuring an UltraPixel technology. Further, One M9+ has a fingerprint scanner on the home button, 2,840 mAh battery and BoomSound speakers.
