Pre-order of Blackberry Priv Android Phone Starts on October 23

The new Blackberry Priv will be available for pre-order this coming October 23 and it will start shipping beginning November 16. The phone is said to come with unlocked version for an amount of up to $749 in U.S. and CAD 949 in Canada. Various published reports also revealed the specs and features that highlight the Android Blackberry phone.

The availability and pricing of the new phone was reported by Mobile Syrup. CEO John Chen also confirmed in the report that Blackberry Priv will be out in the market later this year. The smartphone will be supported by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. There is no confirmation yet if the new phone will be available for update in Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

To discuss specific details of the device, NDTV mentioned that this is the first Blackberry phone that will be supported by Android software. The phone will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 hexa-core SoC. The new phone will also come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card. The new Blackberry device will highlight 3410 (typ) 3360 (min) mAh 4.4V 680 Wh/L with integrated non-removable battery. This battery can last for up to 22.5 hours which is good news for users who do not have immediate access to charge.

More so, Android Authority mentioned that Blackberry Priv will come with 18MP Auto-Focus rear camera and 2MP fixed-focus front camera. The report also said that the new Android device will have a curve display of 5.43 inches with 2560 x 1440 resolution. This is going to be an iconic product for Blackberry as it will come with a sliding physical keyboard.

Enthusiasts will have to wait for the date of the new phone's availability though. Currently, there is no announcement yet from U.S. carriers, online marketers or other retail stores regarding their offer of the new Blackberry Priv.
