Developers Electronic Arts and DICE gets Star Wars: Battlefront as exciting as ever by adding three new characters and three new game modes.
November 17 could not get more exciting to Star Wars: Battlefront fans as the game shall feature its latest additions; three new characters and three new game modes. Lead Hero Designer Jamie Keen proudly reveals that Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Emperor Palpatine shall be joining the array of playable characters in the game. Express further revealed that each character has its unique abilities in connection with its respective personalities in the Star Wars movies. Keen revealed that their goal is to capture the essence and spirit of the Heroes portrayed in the movies and convey it through the gameplay.
Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Emperor Palpatine's unique abilities was discussed in detail by Entertainment Weekly. Han Solo retains his smuggler attitude in the movies as he shall be portrayed as a "lone wolf" in the game rather than a team player. His abilities include Rapid Fire, Lucky Shot, and Shoulder Charge. Princess Leia, portrays her fearlessness and being strategic as the developers capitalize on her leadership skills rather than providing her weapons. Her abilities include Trooper Bane, Enhanced Squash Sheild, and the ability to boost power and replenish health. Her character is more of a support and defense type. Finally, Emperor Palpatine appears to be a deceiver by looking weak but surprising an opponent with a powerful attack. The developers wants his character to convey the powerful sinister hiding under behind a fragile and weak appearance. His abilities include Force Dash and his signature Force Lightning.
To make things more exciting, the developers also added three new game modes on the line, namely Heroes vs Villains, Battles, and Training Missions. In a report, Gamespot briefly described how each mode pulls off. The Heroes vs Villains mode features a short and intense series of battles wherein three heroes fights three villains. The Battles mode is a game wherein a player chooses a character which battles against a droid. The objective here is to collect tokens as an enemy falls, until you have collected 100 tokens. Finally, Training Missions mode involve tutorials to assist newcomers on how the gameplay goes.
Star Wars fans shall be able to play either as Han, Leia, or the Emperor, using abilities that fit their personalities starting November 17th. The game having added three exciting game modes could not make Star Wars: Battlefront any better.
