Star Wars: Battlefront Introduces New Battle Modes; Fans Recommend Characters That Should Be Involved in the Clash of Heroes and Villains

Star Wars: Battlefront is slated to be out on the shelves this November, yet game developers have their hands full in introducing new battle modes to the game. Aside from that, the Battlefront presented the clash between heroes and villains but some fans suggested some characters that should be part of the Star Wars franchise.

Last week, Electronic Arts and DICE brought together new modes for Battlefront: Droid Run, Cargo and Hero Run. Just recently, the developers add another ways to play the game, reported Techno Buffalo.

The site mentioned three more were announced this week by EA and DICE: Heroes vs. Villains, Battles and Training Missions.

Techno Buffalo described Heroes vs. Villains as a 6-v-6 mode that set as rivals the three heroes and three Rebel troops against three villains and three Imperial troops. In Battles, the player can play against another player or AI. The goal of the game is to reach 100 points. While the Training missions can be played alone or co-op, online or split-screen. The mode allows the player to get used to the mechanics.

The site posted a full list of modes announced:

  • Walker Assault
  • Fighter Squadron
  • Supremacy
  • Cargo
  • Droid Run
  • Blast
  • Drop Zone
  • Heroes vs. Villains
  • Hero Hunt
  • Training Missions
  • Battles (including Hero Battles)

The official website of Star Wars: Battlefront elaborated the Heroes vs Villains mode. Lead Level Designer Dennis Brännvall discussed the mode as:

"A game mode with short, intense rounds where iconic Star Wars characters will clash in dynamic fights. The matches are divided into rounds, where three players from each team randomly spawn as the Heroes and Villains of Star Wars Battlefront. In other words, you'll see characters like Luke Skywalker face off against Darth Vader and Boba Fett, along with other Heroes and Villains."

On the other hand, as Star Wars: Battlefront will unveil Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Boba Fett, fans hope that DICE will include some notable characters from the movie series.

Pete Haas of Cinema Blend made a list of suggestions that many Star Wars devotees expect to be part of future expansion. The list includes Bossk, Chewbacca, Rancor, Yoda and Lando Calrissian.

Haas explained the significant roles of the suggested characters. He believed that Bossk will be a great pick because he always brings a huge arsenal such as grenade launcher, thermal detonators and a flamethrower. Those toys will bring excitement to the players. Chewbacca could be a very effective tank for teams, absorbing damage. The rancor's size and incredible strength would a great addition to the cast even in a limited role. Yoda's tiny size might make him a bit overpowered but getting the play one of the coolest characters in all of Star Wars - is worth the effort. Lando Calrissian is skilled with blasters, and known for being a cunning strategist.

These offerings of the Star Wars: Battlefront definitely excite the fans as it will be launched on November 17, 2015 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
