Leah Messer has officially lost custody of her twin daughters Ali and Aleeah. After a long custody battle with ex-husband Corey Simms, the court decided to give the main parentage rights to Corey and his wife Miranda.
The Teen Mom 2 star is still allegedly unstable and needs all the help she can. Though Messer had taken a 30-day rehab for stress and depression, it seems that the young mom hasn't taken a grip of herself yet.
Messer has been filed multiple reports for her purported drug addiction. While she got away with it, she's still advised for rehab not for drug abuse but instead for stress and depression. And while Messer seems to be giving herself a chance, she's taken a huge blow once again for losing custody of her daughters.
In a report by Hollywood Life, the decision all came down to a West Virginian judge who looked at Ali and Aleeah's school records. Apparently, they've been late for school so often while they're with Leah and the judge decided to make the change on the twin's guardianship.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, who hosts the Teen Mom reunions, gave his sentiments about Messer: his advice is that the teen mom should concentrate on getting better for the mean time. While he worries that this recent news could cause her to regress, he's still optimistic about Leah's future especially when she's completed a stint in rehab.
"I don't know if this recent issue with the child custody is going to set her back, but I certainly wish her the best," he said as cited by In Touch Weekly. "She is working very hard and this has been a terribly painful and stressful time for her. So, let's all wish her the best."
While Leah has lost primary custody for her sweet darlings, she still has the rights to spend time with them on weekends. Hopefully, Messer would use these circumstances to help herself for the kids and ultimately, for her own good.
