Star Citizen Reaches One Million-Member Mark; Alpha Patch 1.3 Goes Live With Few Enhancements, Bug Fixes

By

The forthcoming crowdfunded space simulator game "Star Citizen" has passed the one million-member mark, as approximately the same number of people has already been enlisted. Aside from that, reports have it that the game's Alpha patch 1.3 is now live.

According to Belfast Telegraph, Cloud Imperium's "Star Citizen" has reached the million-member mark. Over one million people joined the game's extensive community by creating accounts. And although the full game is yet to be released, small modules are reportedly made available for backers to download. The said modules will provide some tastes of the game's features, such as flying and ship exploration.

Also, as what reports say, a more traditional mission-based single-player game named "Squadron 4" will be released. It should feature characters played by famous actors like Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman. Furthermore, core activities in the full game are set to include trading, mining and combat - be it ground or space.

Meanwhile, LazyGamer reported that "Star Citizen" has out-earned every Kickstarter video game in 2014. Every time the game earns another dollar, it advances itself to be the most crowdfunded game in history. As of writing, other video game Kickstarters are battling it out only to be recognized as the second most crowdfunded game in the gaming history. This is due to the fact that "Star Citizen's" public finances will reportedly be never topped.

GearNuke, on the other hand, revealed that the Alpha patch 1.3 for "Star Citizen" is out and live. Not just that, the said patch reportedly includes several fixes and tweaks in the game. It is believed to have a social interface, so that players can communicate accordingly. Moreover, Alpha patch 1.3 includes a large expansion to the ArcCorp's Area 18. The publication strongly advises players to delete their user folder for the Public client after the patch is downloaded. Doing so will fix the crash experienced on loading as well as odd graphical character issues.

Although "Star Citizen's" final version will not be released until the end of 2016, the game amazingly earned a headstart in success with its more than one million enlisted members. The game is believed to be one of the most anticipated games ever.
