Game's over in just six months. Lark Voorhies filed for divorce from husband Jimmy Green.
On October 19, the "Saved by the Bell" actress has officially filed the documents in Pasadena, California. The 41-year-old star cited irreconcilable differences as the cause and ultimately denies the 32-year-old music engineer any spousal support as reported by People.
The couple got hitched in a private ceremony in Las Vegas just this April after the two dated for a year. But sadly their marriage is ultimately over in only half a year.
While the two newlyweds did have differences against each other, the SBTB actress's mom has undoubtedly played her role in the split.
In a report by TMZ, Green described his marriage to Lark as "a nightmare from the beginning" blaming Patricia, Lark's mom, for many of the couple's issues.
Patricia clearly isn't a fan of the couple seeing that she didn't attend the wedding despite knowing about it as noted by Hollywood Life. Later, it was reported that only after two months of her daughter's marriage, Patricia filed a restraining order against her son-in-law for supposedly not following the unconventional marriage set-up.
Voorhies still stayed in Patricia's house despite being married, so the latter who hated Green wanted him to be out of the house every night. But then she discovered him hiding and staying at home despite their arrangements thus filing a report against him. Patricia's court filings also stated that Green was verbally abusive towards her.
While it's weird that the couple wasn't living separately, it seems that the actress was facing some problems. Patricia claimed that her daughter stayed with her because she was "psychologically, mentally, and emotionally fragile". Voorhies later denied her mother's statement and claimed that she's mentally healthy and was only clinically depressed after she married her first husband Miguel Coleman.
While the couple may get pass this trouble if they wanted to make things work, that's apparently not the case. Green clearly opts for the separation and claimed that Lark was only able to file the divorce first because he doesn't know how.
