God of War 4 is still a speculation as of the moment, and as abruptly wanted to exist right away, the amount of information that fans can hold on to aren't really as solid as it should be. Many leaks, however, have shown that fans certainly still have something to expect.
As reported by Franchise Herald, the re-mastered version of GOW has proven to be successful during and after its launch. Through it, Santa Monica Studio may be eyeing on creating another expansion to the ever-so-craved God of War series, in the form of God of War 4. Through inadvertent hints, the title seemingly may be in the works, which proves to be most admirable to the fans.
According to IGN, Sony received its queue once the re-mastered version of GOW was made available, and has seen the possibility of the upcoming fourth installment to be an unimaginably good one. A recent conversation stated that God of War 4 is still somewhat distant from completion, and in perhaps a year or two, the developers would figure out what the game will be like for the next generation consoles.
During Sony's Project Morpheus VR panel discussion, the name Kratos was brought up and through it, there are some that have speculated that the next title might be playable in VR, with the gamers taking on the role of Kratos, which is still highly debatable as to whether he will still be in the storyline.
In recent reports, Cory Borlog explained the purpose of having re-mastered versions which will aid them for the coming titles, further explaining, "Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4. People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
Will God of War 4 be closer to the fans than expected? Or does it still have a long way to go before it spawns to the mainstream world once more? Stay updated on Santa Monica Studios' upcoming title in the making.
