Microsoft has recently unveiled its latest Android launcher, the Arrow. This new launcher is expected to give the users a better experience with their smartphones, access quickly their most frequent used applications, and send message faster.
Since July, the Microsoft's Arrow Launcher has already been available in a private beta. It is expected to come with reminders, simplify the devices' home screens, as well as automatically organize applications based on usage.
Arrow is a launcher that lets the users personalize the way they use their Android handsets. By simply looking at it, it has an iOS 9 feel, but is not a total imitation of it. Moreover, it also features the "Recent" tab to allow the users to return to their recent file downloads, dropped calls, photos, and application installs quickly.
The dock that is swiped up from the bottom of the screen can also be customized. Users can access commonly used settings as well as their favorite applications easily. Another great feature of the Arrow Launcher is that it allows users to rapidly find people in their contacts and then call, text, or email them with just a swipe. Additionally, this Android launcher lets the users create notes too.
Furthermore, the remarkable integration from Microsoft is the addition of wallpapers from Bing. Same with the usual Android launchers, users can use the Arrow to set pages as home screens, arrange widgets, and re-organize pages.
Microsoft has already embraced the cross-platform development in order to pave its way to the smartphone market. This might be the reason why the company is experimenting with customizations, like that of with the Arrow Launcher.
On the whole, Arrow Launcher is just a Microsoft Garage project in the meantime. It means that the company still needs to see if its worthy of further development or not. Nonetheless, Android users can now download the application for free at Google Play Store.
