Techland's first person horror game, Dying Light: The Following shall have its DLC release which includes a number of bold game-changers in a massive expansion. Such includes new areas, weapons, vehicles, and an untold story.
With the Dying Light having sold more than 5 million copies worldwide, the DLC release of the game is Techland's way of thanking the fans. The DLC includes 10 more hours of gameplay which is so big enough to be a sequel, according to fans. New location, new ride, new crossbow weapon and a new Uzi gun are some of the things to be added to the game. According to Crossmap, the game's defense would feature a dune buggie which has an expansion open to upgrades. These fully customized all-terrain dirt buggies come with attachments, decals, paint jobs, and weapons.
The DLC also introduces a vast new area which would enhance the gaming experience in terms of environment, challenge and new mechanics. Adding to the DLC is the untold story of Kyle Crane. According to Vine Report, the game's key feature would be its extensive map wherein gamers can venture outside the quarantine zone for the first time. As massive as Dying Light's original game maps combined, this whole new map is full of infected people and survivors alike, adding to the game's difficulty level. There is also a new Driver Rank skill tree wherein players can upgrade with rides to survive the outback.
According to Express, Techland had been keeping an eye on player feedback for the game's development. The company gathered fan feedbacks especially for developing the game's special missions. According to the developers: "The team is creating a unique mission that takes place inside an abandoned post office and wants fans to have their messages of distress, horror, or bravery be scattered around the level." Furthermore, the company stated that their design team will select letters and add the comments to the game, giving full credit to the writers.
Rumors have been circulating that the DLC release might be on the upcoming Paris Games Week. The extensive map, customizable buggie, and Kyle Crane's story shall be available in the coming DLC in current season pass or for 14.99 USD for those with separate purchases. The game will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Linux.
