LG users received exciting news last week, as the Korean tech company announced that they would be among the first to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to their smartphones, starting with the LG G4 and G3. That announcement has taken a frustrating turn as the expected launch period - about end of October- has passed and no news about the update for LG handsets has come out.

According to International Business TImes, LG Mobile Communications Company Vice President and Head of Marketing Communications, Chris Yie had said a couple of weeks ago that the LG G4 will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update before other competitors. One can remember that the LG G4 was released just April this year.

Although LG was quiet about release dates, many reports had given the news that Android 6.0 Marshmallow for LG G4 devices should have started last week, entering Poland phones first, while European, Asian and American markets would follow in the succeeding weeks. Those days have passed and Android 6.0 firmware updates are nowhere to be found On the Air nor online.

Geeksnack delivers to expectant LG users the news that the company has announced that the firmware update has been "temporarily suspended." No further explanation was given to why the delay occured, but it is most likely that the company found serious bugs that could not be ignored for the sake of meeting the launch expectations.

If no announcement is made by the smartphone builder within the week, it would be safe to assume that LG users will have to wait until early next year to see an update to LG G4 and G3, says Australia Network News.

Currently, there are still other older LG devices that have not yet received an update for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It's likely that these models will probably jump directly to 6.0 or that 5.1.1 will be as high as they go.
