Sony is expected to launch the PlayStation VR next year. From its birth as the Project Oculus, there are more than 50 games reportedly slated for the virtual reality device.
More games were announced for the PlayStation VR during the PlayStation Press Conference in Paris, according to Wakey Wakey News. One of which is RIGS Mechanized Combat League.
RIGS is set in the year 2065. Players will experience fighting in mechanized suits. The trailer shows two kinds of suits: one that files and one that travels on land and can jump high. As usual, the suits have machine guns and missile launchers. It looks like the machines are battling in an arena in Dubai.
One of the most anticipated games is The Kitchen. However, the list on Reddit does not seem to include it, according to VG247. No screenshots and game art have been released for the title yet. However, reactions on PlayStation VR demos by the players confirm that it is indeed scary.
Despite the popularity of the VR devices such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Sony believes that it will be hard to sell them if people have not tried them out yet. Michael Ephraim, managing director at the SCE in Australia, said that people need to experience VR so they can be convinced.
Ephraim told IGN: "So I think our biggest challenge will be to get people demoing VR. Because there's no way to sell VR until you've tried it. That's the big take out of the whole VR thing. You can watch over the shoulder, you can read articles, but - and I mean this genuinely - everybody that I know who has tried PlayStation VR has taken off their headset with a smile, and said "wow". So you've got to try it."
Horror lovers will be glad to know that Allison Road is included in the list. The title is a tribute to the cancelled Silent Hills from Hideo Kojima. The gameplay trailer looks very similar and fans are looking forward to experience it in VR.
Sony will launch the PlayStation VR next year. Interested buyers will have to own a PS4 in order to enjoy the virtual reality device.
