Created specifically for PlayStation VR, "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" fanatics are likely to have some details as to what they'll be getting with the game. Executive Producer Simon Harris finally confirmed that the game is not a DLC, but rather a standalone product.
Speaking to VG247 at behind-closed-doors preview event, Supermassive executive producer Simon Harris cleared up all confusion by saying, "It's not DLC, or anything like that." The game is believed to be a product for PlayStation VR, and despite being set in the world of Until Dawn, "it's a completely separate game."
"Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" follows a character from the Until Dawn universe, descending into the madness. During gameplay, players will reportedly notice all familiar locations from "Until Dawn," as well as other things around the characters and some similar aspects.
When talking about the power of PlayStation VR in creating jump scares, as reported by SegmentNext, Harris revealed that they have to set up all kinds of new ways by "making you look left and right and things like that." In addition, he hoped that people would not be turned off by "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" being on-rails as most PlayStation gamers would find it "a little 80s or 90s." Nevertheless, he reportedly believes that the experience of a roller coaster adventure allows pacing; and that if people will play the demo, they'll be surprised with the "fast sections and slow sections" as they go up hills.
PlayStationLifeStyle noted that the development for "Rush of Blood" has started when Supermassive was in the middle of "Until Dawn." However, as of writing, the forthcoming game is yet to have an official release date. PlayStation VR, particularly, is scheduled for a release on the first half of 2016.
While "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" is far from reality, fans are still up for another Supermassive franchise. Above, it's not a DLC but rather standalone game for PlayStation VR.
