One Direction held their last gig over the weekend, and it was a very emotional one. The 1D boys, who labeled their hiatus as a 'long holiday', performed at Sheffield for their finale, but reassured their fans they will be back.
According to a report from the BBC, the final concert to end One Direction's 'On The Road Again Tour' took place on October 31st in Sheffield. The boys will now be taking a break, but will be making a few one-off appearances at music award shows before officially going their separate ways in March 2016.
Despite various rumors claiming the boys are over for good, the One Direction lads reassured their fans that they will be getting back together after their very 'long holiday.' Harry Styles even told their fans that the group had been together for "five years, four months, two weeks and a couple of days," before Niall reminisced on stage, "I still can't believe this. I remember five years ago when this all started, our first gig was a little nightclub in Scotland."
In another report from Billboard, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Niall Horan showed their 'bromance' side as they continuously hugged each other during the latter part of the concert as they thanked they fans for all the love and support. The boys serenaded their fans and even formed a stage-side conga line during one of their songs with the help of Liam's dad.
The Mirror UK explained how Harry took to Twitter to express his gratitude to their fans, which Niall also did. Apparently, the One Direction lads have had a total of 80 shows during their latest world tour, and have covered 20 different countries. They have also sold 8.2 million tour tickets and more than 65 million records worldwide.
With the One Direction tour finally over, fans of the much loved boy band can only wait to see when they will pop up again. Although the guys have promised to return as a group after their hiatus, they have all also admitted on starting their own solo careers. For now, One Direction fans will have to wait and see when the boys make their next performance before officially taking a break early next year.
