Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: Alan Tudyk talks filming details, less use of CGI; Christopher McQuarrie polished film's script

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is currently underway and actor Alan Tudyk revealed details on filming practically on the set. Meanwhile, Christopher McQuarrie's involvement in the project was also revealed as he was reported to have polished the script.

The first among the planned anthology films for Star Wars has several notable names attached to it such as those of Forest Whitaker and Felicity Jones among many others. According to Screen Rant, it also has Mads Mikkelsen and Alan Tudyk as the latest additions to the cast.

Principal photography is currently underway for the film, which according to Tudyk is being done practically. While he did not hint on anything related to the plot Tudyk revealed that the movie's set will do less of the CGI.

"You are amazed at what you can look at, because it is a physical world. If there are creatures, then there are creatures; if there are spaceships, then there are spaceships. It's not huge swaths of green hung from the rafters. You have it all there, and if you don't have it there then you go fly some place that does", Tudyk said.

Meanwhile, new reports have also surfaced suggesting that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has also undergone minor rewrites from 'Edge of Tomorrow' scribe Christopher McQuarrie. According to Cinema Blend, McQuarrie's pass on the script lasted for 2 weeks which could mean that his work was to polish certain elements in the script. No details was revealed when McQuarrie worked on the script, but it is speculated to have been done before the project started filming in August.

The project will serve be set after Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope. As reported by International Business Times, the plot will center on the Rebels who stole the plan for the Death Star. It will be the first among the series of films that will tell stories outside the main plot of the Star Wars saga.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards. It is currently slated to hit theaters on December 16, 2016. More details about the project are expected to be revealed when production progress.
