Nintendo NX to Go Toe to Toe with Xbox One and PS4

By

Xbox One may be seeing a new rival beyond the Playstation 4, as Nintendo NX is proving itself to be a worthy opponent in the gaming console race.

In an interview with Game Beat, Microsoft's Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg acknowledges the possible effects on the company as Nintendo sends NX into the picture. He goes on to admit that the company's continuing innovation makes its product unique.

Greenberg further adds that there is nothing that Microsoft has to worry about yet, as Nintendo has been silent about their next move.

Attack of the Fanboy notes Nintendo's intense efforts to keep their development activities for NX under wraps, as they have not released anything that will give any hints whatsoever aside from notes they started sending out to game developers. So far, all that the company has said is that they are planning to make NX different from the Wii U console and to bring something fresh to the table.

Further reports talk about a mobile feature to the Nintendo NX, which is hard to imagine concretely but will be promising if it is true. Another rumoured feature that has been going around is the development of a new console. It will be designed to work alongside the NX and will be more powerful than the 3DS, says Tech Times.

For the meantime, as Nintendo NX works silently in the background, the battle between the Xbox One and the PS4 will continue to rage on during the holidays. Microsoft's Greenberg has released two promotional moves: releasing of special edition consoles that most gamers look forward to and bundling consoles with a new and upcoming game.

Nintendo has made a solemn pledge to only announce specs of their upcoming console, Nintendo NX, by 2016. There have been talks of the Nintendo NX being released by 2016, but others would claim it will not come out until 2017 given that the Wii U console is relatively new.
