LG G4 Users in South Korea Gets the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

By

Last month LG G4 users in Poland finally got their hands on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Though considered sort of a beta test, things must have gone very well for them considering that South Korean LG G4 users will be receiving the update as well.

Phone Arena states that phones with model numbers LG-F500K, LG-F500L, and LG-F500S can get the update through OTA. The Android 6.0 includes the new Doze feature, which is a neat and practical way to save battery life by shutting down the background apps once not in use.

Another additional feature received by LG G4 users is the Google Now on Tap. This brings up contextually based information based on what you read on a regular basis on your handset.

LG was one of the first to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its users, VR Zone says, as the company's flagship G4 received the firmware two weeks after marshmallow made the announcement of its latest Nexus models running on Marshmallow.

As tech followers all know, South Korea is LG's home country, which may appear strange why Poland got the update first. Analysts are claiming that the phone builder used Poland as their 'Guinea Pig' to test out possible bugs.

According to Android Authority, it will only be a matter of time until the Marshmallow update for LG G4 will go world-wide for its users. It's also likely that the North American market will be the last to see the update from the South Korean OEM.

LG G4 sports a 5.5" IPS Quantum display with a 2560 x 1440 (Quad HD), 538 ppi resolution. The chip set it carries is a Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 808 processor with X10 LTE and 1.8GHz 64-bit Hexa-Core.

The next to launch after LG will most probably be HTC, as reports have said that the next HTC phone to be launched will have Android 6.0 out-of-the-box.
