The latest Motorola's Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 have already been launched. The Turbo 2 features a shatterproof display while the Maxx 2 comes with a microSD card slot and it's fairly less feature-rich compared to its forerunner.
According to Digital Trends, these two new smartphones appear pretty identical. However, the Droid Turbo 2 comes in 5.9 x 3.1 inches, while the Maxx 2 arrives little smaller for measuring 5.8 x 2.9 inches. Both hold the weight of 6 ounces rendering them having the size and scope, though materials employed to these new handsets differ quite a bit.
When it comes to the power, the Droid Turbo 2 clearly presents as a more high-end device since it's built with 3GB of RAM and a Qualcom Snapdragon 810 2.0 GHZ octo-core processor. On the other hand, the Maxx 2 comes equipped with lower Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.7 GHZ Octa-core processor and 2GB RAM.
Aside from the Droid Turbo 2 one-of-a-kind shatterproof screen, this device also comes packed with a massive TurboPower 3,760 mAh battery unit. It is said that this cell seemed to have the ability of providing up to 48 hours of charge. In the meantime, the TurboCharge mechanism will seemingly be able to deliver 13 hours of battery life by only having a 15 minutes charge, International Business Times wrote.
While the DROID Turbo 2 is indeed the high-level, flagship device from Motorola, the MAXX 2 comes as more of a niche which offers design that will maximize battery life, and still gives a sufficient specs sheet, Phone Arena noted.
As for the specifications, a report from Android Headlines has stated that the DROID Maxx 2 comes packed with a 3,630mAh battery that is quite a tad more compared to most smartphones and even in the high-end series. This shows that this device's battery life will be one of its best features.
This DROID Maxx 2 comes in 5.5-inch 1080p display with 403 ppi. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. It will sport a 21MP rear-facing sensor capable of zero shutter lag for very rapid pictures while a 5MP with a wide-angle lens for the front camera.
The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 can be purchased at $624 without a contract; this price refers to the 32 GB model since its 64 GB is being priced at $720. On the other hand, the Motorola Maxx 2 comes cheaper at $384 for the model which has 16 GB.
