Samsung Galaxy On5 and On7 have recently arrived in India, the second largest market when it comes to smartphone sales. These handsets feature middle-range specs, making it appropriate for its price.

According to Tech2, Samsung held an event last Tuesday, November 3 at Delhi. The central characters of the event were the Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7's debut. The company had mentioned on its invites that attendees of the event would witness "the latest addition to its smartphone portfolio".

Furthermore, the NDTV Gadgets had given detailed specifications and features of the recently released smartphones in India. The Samsung Galaxy On5 reportedly features a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixel) TFT display and measures 142.3x72.1x8.5mm, and weighs 149 grams. Engineered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, the new device work-hand-in hand with a 1.5GB of RAM.

It is armed with an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. It has 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB and is powered by a 2,600 mAh capacity battery. As for the connectivity options on this handset, it includes 4G LTE (with support for Indian LTE bands), Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass, Micro-USB, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, and Wi-Fi b/g/n.

On the other hand, the Galaxy On5's tandem, Galaxy On7, features nearly identical specifications to the Galaxy On5, except for a larger display, different processor and larger battery capacity, as well as a higher resolution on rear-facing camera sensor.

It has a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) TFT display, measures 151.8x77.5x8.2mm, and weighs 172 grams. The device is engineered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, packed with 1.5GB of RAM. Galaxy On7 is armed with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper. Similar to the Galaxy On5, the Galaxy On7 has 8GB of built-in storage that's expandable via microSD card up to 128GB and is powered by a 3,000 mAh capacity battery.

Apart from the above mentioned specs and features of these handsets, Android Authority added that the Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 are the first to make use of MixRadio, which gives users access to over 32 million tracks, including tracks in 12 Indian regional languages. This application features both online and offline play.

As for the price, the smaller Galaxy On5 is the cheaper with a price tag set at Rs. 8,990 (~$150) while the Galaxy On7 cost Rs. 10,990 (~$185). Both smartphones come in black or white color options and will be available exclusively though FlipKart.

Since the Samsung Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 reached the second largest market, this may indicate a huge amount of sales for the company. But despite the cheapness in price, both of the handsets are expected to face a stiff competition in the mid-end smartphone arena like Meizu m2, Meizu m2 Note, Lenovo K3 Note, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, and more.
