Recently the official Star Wars Korean official Facebook page posted a teaser photo wherein an idol group appeared on Star Wars' poster. While the image only showed a silhouette of nine guys posing, it's so obvious that the fans of EXO are already spreading news for the collaboration project.
Earlier this year, EXO released a promotional photo for their song "Love Me Right" and it's the same image used and edited for the Star Wars teaser.
Sure enough, SM Entertainment, one of Korea's known entertainment agencies where EXO belongs, has confirmed that the K-pop group will indeed release a collaboration project with Walt Disney Company Korea.
People are ecstatic about this, all the more local and international fans of EXO, to see their bias dancing to an intergalactic theme. Reportedly, the idol group's collaboration project will bring forth a new single, "Lightsaber".
Of course, along their new track comes a promotional music video for the upcoming Star Wars film. They are also expected to do other projects related to the film. Maybe fans can see Baekhyun wearing Skywalker's costume or D.O. playing as an adorable Yoda, who knows?
SMTOWN Official has uploaded a short video teaser for "Lightsaber". The 1-minute video featured Kai performing some dance moves as flashes of light emitted from his hands, clearly denoting Star Wars' iconic lightsaber.
And while EXO fans look forward to "Lightsaber", there's also a much bigger event this idol group is about to take on. On December 2, MNET Asian Music Awards 2015 will be held in Hong Kong and EXO is very much expected to be part of this.
MNET Asian Music Awards or MAMA is one of the major Kpop music awarding ceremonies to hail the best idol group in 17 categories. For this year, EXO is marking their way to fame as they are currently nominated in four categories. Fans of this group are battling their known rival BigBang in all four nominations. Fans can put their votes for EXO only until Dec. 1.
And while the voting continues and the intensity ensues, presently EXO is leading in two awards: UnionPay Artist of the Year and Best Dance Performance Male Group for their song "Call Me Baby."
Additionally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will premiere in Korea on Dec. 17.
