After multiple scenarios in which DOOM was only a rumor, Bethesda has confirmed the existence of a new and improved DOOM game prior to those many years. Now that Bethesda has confirmed that the game will come no sooner than later, fans were recently invited to partake in checking the title's stability and more, through a recently held Closed Alpha event.
It was reported by Independent that last October 23, 2015, Bethesda held one of their most interesting Closed Alpha events, in an attempt to sort out what the game is still in need of. Through it, a handful of players had a feel of what the new DOOM could be-at least for the time being. The development team themselves declared one thing that fans are to understand with regards to the Closed Alpha event.
According to PC Gamer, a recent footage was spilled out for fans to get an idea of the Closed Alpha's contents, and to clarify expectation. Marty Stratton of Bethesda declared that as of the moment, the video in which the features of DOOM is being showcased does not depict yet the entirety of the game. It would not be considered a beta, gameplay demo or the like, but a mere taste of where the team stands now.
Noted by Vg247, the said video exhibited some interesting points for players to take pay attention to. One of which would be the Demon Rune, that gives the ability to morph a player into a powerful Revenant, rigged with dual rocket launchers and a jetpack. Another would be the Gauss Cannon, which is a strong weapon that can obliterate any opponent, and lastly would be a heap load of Power-ups like Quad Damage and Invisibility.
The abovementioned weapons are of course, limited at their own rights-the Revenant runs on a limited time, whereas the players who kills a Rune can acquire the feature as well. The Gauss Cannon only has a limited ammo count, and the Power-ups, of course, will end after a certain period of time.
Stay tuned for more updates on DOOM by Bethesda as it is noted as one of the most recognized titles of the generation, and is ideally one of the most anticipated in the first-person shooter industry.
