Travis Fimmel (who plays the character of King Ragnar Lothbrok) will soon be leaving the set of "Vikings" to work on a new movie, as reported on Vine Report. Fimmel has been recently cast in a role for a big movie adaptation "Warcraft", a popular video game series which is set to be released on June 10, 2016.
Regarding King Ragnar's role executive producer Michael Hirst revealed some details with The Hollywood Reporter for the upcoming season of "Vikings". Hirst stated, "It's very important to know that he's not only sick; he's hovering between life and death. So that impacts hugely on the beginning of season 4, which we're working on now. It's a big story point. It's very important that Ragnar is weakened, ill and hovering between life and death when we come back for season 4."
Elsewhere, History Channel General Manager Dick Hoogstra shares how the show has proven to be one of the most lucrative and anticipated projects. According to IGN, Hoogstra said that Vikings has raided the hearts of both the audiences and critics. He adds that the show has established itself as one of the most compelling and visually stunning dramas on television.
A lead character will be leaving "Vikings" soon to focus on his new role for a big screen project. Other than that, the executive producer shared some details about the forthcoming season. Meanwhile, the network's general manager gave the show a positive feedback.
As of now, History Channel has yet to announce the official premiere date of "Vikings" Season 4. However, the show is expected to return around February or March 2016. "Vikings" is an Irish-Canadian historical action drama TV series written and created by Michael Hirst.
