Elder Scrolls 6 Not Arriving This Year, Might Be Released in 2016 or 2017

By

There were talks left and right that fans of Elder Scrolls might be disappointed this year as Bethesda Studios might only release Elder Scrolls 6 next year or in 2017.

Rumors have spread that Elder Scrolls 6 (or possibly, Skyrim 2) will be released by the end of 2015 but those rumors only turned out to be hoaxes. Apparently, the release date of Elder Scrolls 6 is delayed because Bethesda Studios is busy working for the last preparations for the release of Fallout 4, Inquisitr reported.

Bethesda Vice President Peter Hines suggested several times that Bethesda's core development team, which is also in charge of the Elder Scrolls game, will be working in support of Fallout 4 for the next couple of years. Fallout 4 will be available in stores on Tuesday, November 10.

Hines said, "...generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge. They'd be spitting out a Skyrim 2 the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it."

With the focus of Bethesda Studios on putting the finishing touches of Fallout 4, they won't be able to work on Elder Scrolls yet. Bethesda will only be able to focus on Elder Scrolls 6 after they get to finally release Fallout 4. As the said game studio will be very busy with their other projects, the next installment of the franchise might be announced in late 2016, according to Master Herald.

On Wednesday, November 11, is The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's fourth anniversary. The previous titles of the franchise namely Oblivious, Morrowind, and Skyrim, were all well received by its users, NeuroGadget reported.

One thing that is for sure though is that Bethesda is good at keeping secrets. It was only recently when the game developers confirmed that Fallout 4 is in the works and will be released this year. Fans of Elder Scrolls can only hope that the said game will be released sooner than later.
