Latest Nintendo NX News: The Console to Have Social Media Capacities

By

The Nintendo NX release could be slated as early as July 2016, and the maker of the console is preparing to go toe to toe with chief rivals, Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4, by introducing some key functions.

Although the company has sworn to stay silent at least until the start of 2016, major leaks have come out as to what users can expect from the new console. According to Yibada, one of the functions to leak recently is social media functions that will allow users to share and boast of achievements.

Christian Today adds that the company has also filed a patent that showcases this achievement system. The patent also includes a note-adding function that allows users to share to others how they got the achievement. It is further hinted that there will be a video recording function to show how the achievements were unlocked.

But what is really sparking the interest of onlookers now is seeing what kind of titles will come along with the launch of the new product by Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario are being talked about more often nowadays. There have also been rumours floating around about Pokémon, although this is yet to be confirmed after the 'vow to silence' has been lifted.

Earlier this week, designer and producer, Shigeru Miyamoto, shared in an investor presentation that Nintendo is ready to use their wealth of IPs when it comes to their future gaming expansion and strategy, says Express.

In other related news, Electronic Arts (EA) has been strongly implying their motives to work alongside Nintendo in the development of the Nintendo NX experience. Although EA CEO, Andrew Wilson, has not confirmed any plans to support the new platform, he strongly alluded EA's support for the core functions of the NX.

This is big news considering that EA stopped supporting Nintendo's last console, the Wii U in 2013, after only 10 million units were released since its launch in 2012.
