Syfy officially renews "Z Nation" for its 3rd season due to its high household ratings. On the other hand, Kellita Smith talks about how its like being a part of the most anticipated zombie series.

Syfy Network finally announces that "Z Nation" Season 3 is set to return with 15 episodes for season 3. The upcoming season is slated to premiere anytime soon in 2016 as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. There is no specific date yet on when it will be officially released however, speculations suggest that it will air around September 2016.

Furthermore, the basic cable network's decision to renew the series for a 3rd season since it is one of their highest rated shows. According to Deadline, season 2 currently garners an average of 1.5 million viewers per episode. The show features one of the most talked about storylines on their network and across social media. It is also ranked as Syfy's most original series in total social engagements.

Elsewhere, "Z Nation" cast Kellita Smith shares how it's like being a part of a zombie series. Kellita told fans via Eurweb, 'When I got the opportunity to audition for the Z Nation, and the material responded to me because of the writing and the heartfelt words that were able to come out from my mouth. That really stimulated me more so cause I didn't know it was so action packed until I got there."
