‘Legend of Zelda WiiU’ Developers Clarifies Release, Explains Delay

Will the Legend of Zelda title for WiiU ever be released? Such is a common question for the gaming community after long years of waiting for any updates of the game since its official announcement. This made fans wonder if the game would ever be released or simply delayed, which prompted the developers to explain throught their social media account the reasons for the delay. No release date was mentioned, but the developers nevertheless clarified that the game is under development and would be released soon.

The Legend of Zelda title was first announced during the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). After two years, it was revealed that the developers are working on a new title exclusive for Nintendo WiiU. Then nothing was heard of about the game ever since. According to Ecumenical News, Director Eiji Aonuma confirmed through a video in the game's official Facebook account that the game is in the process of development, to those worrying whether the game is cancelled or merely delayed. Furthermore, he explained that the team discovered several opportunities to improve and make the game to be the best it can be. According to him, they abandoned the game's 2015 deadline in order to make sure that their ideas come to life.

While a release date remain uncertain, a document also assured fans that the game is not cancelled and is in development. Vine Report relays that during an investor's meeting, Nintendo released its earnings summary, and the list indicated Zelda WiiU with launch date marked as 'TBD'. Such list shows that the company intends to push the release. Aonuma also assured fans that the game would not be set aside by the development of Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes for Nintendo 3DS as they have separate teams working for each game.

Fans have long been at odd with developer Nintendo as it has been so long since a new footage for a Nintendo WiiU release of the Legend of Zelda title was released. Design & Trend reports that the lack of new details regarding the game progress has been the source of fan contention. However, it just happened that Nintendo figureheads had appeared many times admitting of a great trailer and then deciding not to show it. With this, Nintendo enthusiasts are now growing impatient as the news drought carries on.

It seems that the release date for Nintendo's Legend of Zelda WiiU remain unclear, and fans just have to hold on to Nintendo figureheads' and earnings summary's assurance of release.
