Xiaomi's second generation wearable fitness tracker dubbed as Mi Band 1S is expected to become available today, November 11.This new fitness tracker was claimed to feature a built-in heart rate monitor and works with iOS and Android.
According to Tech Times, the name of the new Mi Band 1S infers that it is an evolutionary upgrade to the Xiaomi's first and most popular fitness band, the Mi Band. It is said that the new Mi Band 1S appears actually identical to its forerunner. However, this new wearable features an optical heart sensor that is being integrated under the band and comes in straight contact with the wrist.
The Mi Band 1S is a little larger than its predecessor as it measures 37x13.6x9.9mm and weighs half a gram more than the Mi Band, too. Since this device is IP67 certified, this means that this should have the capability to endure dust and water to an extent, NDTV gadgets noted.
A 30-day battery life on a single charge will be featured on the Mi Band 1S again as this device comes packed with the same 45mAh battery like the last Mi Band released. The latest band also sports a heart-rate sensor, it would be an exciting deed if it achieves to bring it.
First Post states that the new Mi band 1S features a better silicone strap and an aluminium alloy-made tracker module which has an ADI sensor and connectivity features like Bluetooth 4.0 (LE). The optical heart rate sensor is stated to offer an advanced fitness tracking experience than its predecessor. The number of calories burned can be calculated by this device during exercise and even the number of steps taken can be kept on track as well.
The new Xiaomi Mi Band 1S will be available for purchase today with a price that starts at CNY 99 or approximately Rs. 1,030, or $16. The original Mi Band, on the other hand will still be available as stated by the company.
