Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+ (model number SM-N750) got a good news this week, as reports have indicated that it will be getting the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update pretty soon.
The Note 3 has not seen an update in the last 6 months, and as Samsung UK had promised, it will be coming in the form of the latest Lollipop version, says Neuro Gadget. The update is accompanied by a new and improved user interface and enhancements for the battery life, security, apps and TouchWiz.
The user interface will be more dynamic and vibrant. This will give the opportunity to interact more easily with and through the device. The Samsung Note 3 has NFC capabilities, which means that the latest firmware update will set up the device with previously installed applications that include the wallpaper and screen layouts. WiFi and location settings previously set will also be carried on, says Latinos Post.
According to You Mobile, the 4G-variant Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+ will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update as well with all the new features. The update is said to be able to help Note 3 owners to sync their handsets to other Android devices.
One noteable downside of the Android 5.1.1 update is that it does not carry a security response for the infamous Stagefright bug, that grants hackers access to a person's device through MMS or media files.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo sports a 5.5 inch screen with 720x1280 pixel resolution. The device runs on an Exynos 5260 chipset supporting a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and a dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortez A15 CPU. Internal storage is set at 16GB and 2GB or RAM.
The device was launched back in February 2014, which is relatively old for the fast pace technology industry. Although most OEMs are going crazy over Android 6.0 updates for their devices, the Note 3 will have to make use of the Android Lollipop for the time being.
